#42 Mainstone circular

In one of those happy life connections; i did this walk with a girl from Manchester i’d met on the Manaslu trail who had been on my flight home from Kathmandu as well. On the plane we discussed going walking together and two weeks later here we are!

We parked at Woodbatch farm (it has camping, B&B and the Shropshire Way trail running through it so they are used to people) and the helpful farmer helped us plan a route avoiding cow fields etc as we had her German shepherd with us. We set off about 10am and followed part of the Shropshire Way through some fields before emerging onto a country lane near Mainstone that we followed along and left to a lovely church. From there we went up and down a couple of steep hills, now following the Offas Dyke route, and had lunch sat on a hummock overlooking the rolling hills and fields. The weather held and stayed beautiful the whole time we were out, and we circled around on the Kerry Ridgeway following country lanes back to the car for about 1.45pm.

About 9 miles walked, a good catch up and a beautiful fresh air day.
