18- Big Trees Trail

Squeezed this one in before working in the afternoon and was glad i did. A bumpy rugged boardwalk before a forest path skirting a few patches of mud led my friend Shay and I past some majestic beasts of trees. The biggest ones aren’t pictured here as they were too big to fit in a picture and do them justice. We had a great little boat ride over from Tofino to Meares Island for this hike on the water taxi with a very cute dog (he wasn’t the skipper just the co pilot to the lady driving). We were lucky to have some sunshine as it’s now later in the day and the weather has turned filthy. This trail is gorgeous- 3.5km of lichen, musty earthy smells and fungi. A couple of nice little beach areas too. The big trees trail reminded us that big is beautiful! Photo credits to Shay who has a nice iPhone.

#18- nature at its finest- 3.5km
