16- downtown Tofino to Pettinger Point

This was mostly a cycle rather than a walk but i will include it as i was proud of the distance and it was so beautiful. I bought a rubbish little bike from the Tofino trading post for $30 and proceded to spend far more than that on lights, a helmet and a lock for it. Writing this a month later and i can so far say i haven’t used the bike since this day. Anyway, i digress. I cycled along the multi use path that runs from downtown as far as Cox Bay, my knees crying out as the seat was too low and my bum was also not used to the hard seat. I felt a sense of achievement as i locked up the purple brute near the beach and it was absolutely blissful to stretch out my knees on the beach. Cox Bay definitely is not my favourite beach, in contrast to Middle, as even at this time of year it was packed with surfers and families. I walked to the far end and found a little trail leading to the boardwalk out to Pettinger point. This was a gorgeous little walk with spectacular views and i was lucky yet again to be blessed with lots of sunshine. I sat at he end for a while eating chocolate and enjoying the powerful waves. I cycled back to town and definitely felt i’d done enough exercise for the day. I’m much more of a hiker than a cyclist i’ve confirmed, might have to sell the bike on!

Number 16- Only about 2km walking but about 16km cycling
